14 November 2004, 01:14 Trackback w/Textpattern

This blog is now officially ready to receive trackbacks. The plugin will be posted here in the next few days…

Want to add TrackBack capabilities to your TXP blog? Well, follow these instructions:

• Download trackback.zip to your desktop. Extract it and upload the file named trackback into your root folder (where your blog’s index.php is located).
  
  Note: If your TXP installation directory is not /textpattern, edit this file and change this line to match your specific installation:include "./textpattern/config.php";
  
• Open your .htaccess file and add this line to it:
  <Files trackback>
SetHandler application/x-httpd-php
</Files>
  
• Create this new table to your TXP Database (change [PREFIX] to your prefix – default is txp):
  
CREATE TABLE [PREFIX]txp_trackbacks (
ID int(6) unsigned zerofill NOT NULL auto_increment,
Title varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',
Expert varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',
Date datetime NOT NULL default '0000-00-00 00:00:00',
PostID int(6) NOT NULL default 0,
PRIMARY KEY (ID)
) TYPE=MyISAM;

  
• Copy the ran_trackback plugin and paste it into the appropriate textbox under admin->plugins, and hit the upload button. After uploading, please make sure you activate it.
   

• Add this tag: <txp:ran_trackback_link /> to the forms you want to have a link to the trackbacks.

That’s it! You’re done!
