Building
Two platforms that changes how software gets built and run:
MUXI โ open-source infrastructure for AI agents. Think Docker, but for agents. The missing layer between raw LLMs and production systems.
Cloop โ an autonomous engineering control plane. It turns approved issues into pull requests, auto-detects and fixes bugs, and guards against supply-chain attacks. Your engineering team, minus the toil.
Several other ventures are being built on top of these โ quietly, for now.
Companies
VarOps is a systems-level advisory practice โ for companies building with or on AI that need more than code. Strategy, architecture, capability building, and the kind of straight talk that saves you from expensive mistakes.
Automaze offers a CTO-as-a-Service agency. We embed with founders and technical teams who need senior engineering leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire. We've maintained a 92% client retention rate because we treat our clients' businesses like our own โ because in some cases, they are.
Writing & speaking
Host of Old School / New Tech โ a podcast for business owners who've scaled with technology and systems without becoming a tech startup.
Author of Production-Grade Agentic AI โ a practical guide to building AI agent systems that actually hold up in the real world.
Writes the Code Daddy newsletter โ for developers, indie makers, and solo entrepreneurs looking to build smarter. 30,000 people read it. You're welcome to join them.
I'm also available for podcast appearances, conference talks, and workshops. You can find a full list of past appearances and sessions here.
Beyond the code
The technical work is only part of it. Ran spent decades on the business side too โ online marketing, performance advertising, and growth. He ran a performance marketing school in Israel that put over 5,000 students through its doors and made a lot of them genuinely wealthy.
He led a multi-million dollar product launch in AdTech and spent years on both the buy and sell sides of online media exchanges. Then he built fully automated algorithmic trading strategies at the intersection of software and capital markets.
All of which is to say: when Ran advises on technology, he's not just thinking about the code.
